Throwback - My favorite nail art and the most productive period

Hello ladies!

Last week I took part in a challenge and it reminded me of my glorious days :)) I was most productive when I was participating at no more than 3 challenges at a time. I was quite the busy bee and I loved it! But having to come up with some many designs and having to stick to a timeline it took a tool on me eventually. By the time the university started I felt like I needed a break and so I quietly stepped out of the challenges world. And almost two years later here I am ^_^

Limealicious

Hey sunshine!

How are you today! Let's bring some summer on our nails, shall we? I've got the perfect nail polish for that, it's called Limealicious (squishy! I know ^^) and it's from Rimmel London, the 60 Seconds Collection. I was telling you in my previous post that I involuntarily started using only Rimmel London nail polishes in my previous manicures. So I've decided to swatch every one I've got from this brand, and I've got about a dozen of them. I hope you won't get bored! It's gonna be fun!

 Please ignore my striping skills! They're horrible! I need to practice more, 'cause I'm rusty. Moving on, this design is not thaaat hard to achieve, you start by doing a negative space (using french strips) and then you proceed by doing white lines, or dots or whatever you like.

You know that feeling when you really must have a certain colour on your nails? That's how I've felt lately regarding red. I wanted to see it on my nails asap! I've tried of course a couple of times but my reds were out of shape, gluey and thick and they all "wonderfully" bubbled up on me.

TTC#6 - When stripes turn into tribal...

I hope your Monday went smoothly! (if that is ever possible ^^) We're off to another week and it'll get crowded over here, I intend to show you at least four manicures. The first one is from the Techniques Challenge with a striped theme. I haven't done a tribal design in ages so this was the perfect opportunity!

Sper că ați avut o zi de luni ușoară! (dacă e posibil așa ceva ^^) Începem o nouă săptămână și va fi puțină aglomerație aici pe blog, îmi propun să vă arăt cel puțin patru manichiuri. Prima este din cadrul Provocării Tehnicilor  cu o temă dungată. Nu am făcut un model tribal de multă vreme, așa că aceasta o fost ocazia perfectă!

Today, (read yesterday) is the day for the Mish Mash Challenge and the theme is metallic - a theme that I've always avoided in the past because I simply do not like metalic shades on my nails but to show you that I'm committed to this challenge and because I want to challenge myself I'll be doing all the themes but I'll mold them after my own tastes, like I did with this mani ^^

I'm hoping you aren't getting tired of the one-stroke technique but I can't seem to get enough of it lately, so for the sake of my blog the next two manicures will contain something completely new to me! So stay tunned for some "outrageous" designs :))

I'm starting to forget how to begin my posts :)) I know there are no written rules but I think you have to say some pleasantries first and given that I haven't posted for a week - it's a must ^^ so I hope you're all doing well and I'm not just saying that...I would really want to see your thoughts in the comments section just to let me now you're still here. It's a bit sad that I don't have more time for this blog and I have so many plans for it but I don't know when I'll be able to put them in practice. Anyways, enough complaining, let's talk nails!!

After the "traumas" my nails are still brittle so my manicures don't last more than a day therefore I started wearing simple manicures with just one color so that's one of the reasons for my lack of posting, among others.

Anyways the fact is that beeing sick for a week now is depressing and yesterday I really wasn't in the mood for nails at all, no inspiration, nothing. So I've postponed my post for today hoping that I'll be in the right place. That didn't happen :)) but I've managed to come up with something so I hope you'll like it!

Tribal, chevrons or just stripes?

I'm back with a new manicure! Easy to do and yet catchy 'cause it has two accent nails. ^^ Maybe you've grown tired of seeing mint greens for the past few posts but seriously I can get enough of it and it's a sure thing you'll be seeing them some more. For this mani I've combined it with black, a harsh combination you may say but let's think the other way around and say that it sweetens the black.

Twirled french

Today I have for you a french manicure with a twist - it's super colorful and fun ^^ It's not hard to achieve this look but you need a little bit of patience and some regular french strips. Below you'll find some explicative photos on how you should do it. Now let's see what I'm talking about:

Azi am pentru voi o manichiură french mai neobișnuită - e foarte colorată și veselă. ^^ Nu e greu de executat dar aveți nevoie de puțină răbdare și de niște benzi speciale pentru acest tip de manichiură.

Sharp edges - Avon Challenge: Colorspin

I have for you a geometric mani (first of this kind) and it's my contest entry for the Avon Challenge: Colorspin (romanian contest only) I had to recreate Alina's manicure but choose what colors I want. So I've choosed my favourite color combination for the spring/summer which is lilac and mint. Here's my approach:

Let me just start by saying this is the first time I'm wearing my nails all black and I'm pretty sure it's going to be the last time too. This whole manicure was kind of an experiment I've used a matifying top-coat for the first time and I'm not very pleased by it (a product by Flormar) because my nails aren't that matte and I can't figure out what I did wrong because I did exactly what the instructions said. Also the design looked so much better in my head :)) and I'm a bit disappointed by the end result of this mani. But anyways here they are:

This design is part of the 31 weeks collaboration and I had to be inspired by a song in this theme. So I picked my newest all time favourite song Moya - A Little More love.

I hope you're all enjoying the weekend ^^ Today I'm showing you a design which was fun to wear and received  a few compliments. Maybe I went a little crazy using so many colors but I think the milky base tonned everything down a little.

This mani is also part of the usual Saturday collaboration and the theme is as you've probably guessed - stripes.

Today is Saturday, and if it's Saturday it's in fact exciting Saturday you all know why so I won't repeat myself (I've already done it three times in my first scentence this post ^^). So let's get back to bussiness!!
Today's theme is Inspired by a color, boy this one gave me a little something something to think about and you know me (just a figure o speach I haven't been around for long only a month or so..hihi) I wanted to do something special. And when I say special I actually mean anything else but plain color.

For this theme I could've done anything, use any technique but I then when the right Saturday for that technique will come what would I have done?

Watercolor and roses - First attempt!

Since I'm a student I hate the months of January and February, it's all about exams and stressful stuff :( I'm complaining again and I haven't even started yet...
But luckily I have something to cheer me up, yep my nail art, sweet loved obssesion :D
For today's mani I've tried two new techniques, as you can see I'm still a newbie. So for the watercolor wanna be technique I've watched this >tutorial< and for those horribly wanna be roses :)) I've watched this >one<

Imperfectly perfect

După cum v-am promis, azi vin cu o nouă manichiură, e destul de simplu de realizat modelul și puteţi să mai variaţi puţin, recunosc, mai trebuie să exersez la tehnica free-hand dar eu mă declar mulțumită ^^
Azi nu sunt prea vorbăreaţă  așa că vă las cu pozicile:

Am folosit benzi pentru french, doar că le-am poziționat la jumătatea unghiei, apoi cu pensula am tras linii (pe cât de drepte posibil dar având în vedere că le-am făcut cu lac și nu cu acrilice...).

Ştiu că toată lumea e în toiul pregătirilor, peste tot e agitaţie, mai ales gospodinele se stresează cel mai tare :)) dar trebuie totuşi să avem și câte un moment de respiro în care să ne tragem sufletul și să ne delectăm cu ceva uşor, cum ar fi o manichiură :D

E tot un model potrivit acestei perioade, de fapt sunt două modele, dar cel cu glitter roşu nu a ieşit aşa cum vroiam (a fost prima dată când am folosit glitter pudră :-s), aşa că să ne concentrăm pe cel cu modelul free-hand.

Come to the dark side!

Ceea ce a început prin a fi o manichiură veselă a ajuns să fie exact opusul. Iniţial am vrut să combin roşu cu acel dark blue (really dark blue...e o culoare tare faină, nu a reuşit aparatul meu să surprindă toată splendoarea ei dar e un bleu foarte închis cu irizaţii de albastru metalic). Anyway după ce am început să fac prima jumătate cu acest bleu, negru sau ce-o fi (am lăsat să se usuce, TIP: folosiţi scoci ca să aplicaţi lacul pe diagonală mai uşor), am aplicat apoi roşu şi mi se părea preaaaaa dură combinaţia, aşa că am schimbat cu un mov sidefat, şi apoi dunga aurie.
