Today we say goodbye to November...this means that we're officially entering the holiday season...whoop whoop! I can't wait! I'm really in the mood to do some Christmasy nail art! Until then, let us focus on today's nails.
First of all, thank you for being here. It gives me such pleasure to see that there are readers even though it's been so long since I last posted. Work/ school/ life keeps me busy and I know there are some of you that do the same and still have time to squeeze in some posts, but not me, the master of procrastination. So cheers to all the ladies out there that have a busy schedule and still have time to blog ^^
I was hoping to do some nail art but I can't quite keep up with my new schedule. I recently started a new job and I'm not used to the hours yet; so there's usually a lot of sleep or going out in my free time and not nearly enough time for nails, sadly! So until I can figure things out I decided I should do a tag (since I've never done one before). I saw it on Georgia's Mirror and thought it was cute and oh so right for this blog. So let's begin:
Although, there are a lot of brands out there, I only tried a handful of them. So, from my personal collection Golden Rose, definetly stands out! Lately, they expanded their color range, textures and finishes and the quality is quite pleasing.
How you've been, this beautiful autumn? I can't believe september is almost over, I've been so busy with work that I barely did anything interesting. I have a cute tag prepared that will hopefully be up next week, until then let's have a look at today's manicure.
I'm glad you're here, reading! I have something pretty for you today, but I don't think pretty is the right adjective for it; the word that comes to mind when I look at this nail polish is sophisticated, yes! This Flormar #013 from the True Color Collection is the perfect red for a misterious allure. Gosh, I'm using a lot of fancy words to describe this color, but imagine it on your nails and tell me: what comes to mind? I can think of some khaki and military accents.Whatever outfit you imagined or occasion or scenario, this color would only empower you, for sure!
How are you all doing? It feels like ages since my last post! But, here I am, after yet again, another unplanned hiatus. I would say I'm sorry but I'm not really, I simply enjoyed my last vacation as a student. Anyways, I've done some changes to the design, it's not ready yet, but I would love to hear your thoughts about the new look of the blog.
Today I'm not showing you a manicure, but rather talk about a product that I loved this summer, that is: the Loreal Micellar Cleansing Water. I'm sure that the micellar cleansers are not a novelty to you, there are so many choices from mass-market brands to dermatocosmetic, that it's hard to know which one will be right for your skin.
How are you today? I'm happy that I'm finally on vacation, whoop whoop! And what other color than this one can so loudly scream "summer vacation"? Let me tell you: none! I'm in love with this shade, just by looking at it I'm immediatly transposed to a sunny white sand beach, with some palm trees nearby and the quiet ocean... how nice it would be to be sipping a lemonade under those palm trees, right? :))
I bet you're surprised! Well, it's still litlle ol' me, but everything else will be different! Why the change?! you may wonder...well I just wasn't feeling it anymore with the name and the url that didn't match and the design..with just about everything, actually. So the first step was changing the name of the blog to match the url. Sure, I didn't do much research so Mr Google won't redirect you here from the old link, here's where my loss will be. But I'll manage! I don't live for the number of views. I hope you'll find your way back here, one way or another.
The next step will be changing the template of the blog and that's gonna take a while, I want to do it myself and since I'm still learning the ways of web design, things will move a bit slower. But I'm in no hurry! I'm not going anywhere. Maybe you'll share your opinions with me along the way, it will be much appreciated :D
In that note, I would love to know what do you think about the new name? I like it more than what it was before, I hope you'll do too. It was pretty hard to decide on a new name, I've been thinking about it for a good while, just spinning name ideas in my head and this was the one that stuck with me. You have to know, I'm the type of person that gets bored easily with things and I'm always changing my mind. I think I'm the most indecisive person I know :))
So after more than two years of blogging I needed to reinvent myself; to not give up until I'm fully satisfied with everything and to finally have more courage to promote my passion. I guess I've always felt a bit shy about my blog and a part of me wanted it to remain a secret, to just be my little corner. The anonymity appealed to me and it still does; to leave you wondering who's behind the keyboard. But that puts a "wall" between us, which makes me feel safe but at the same time it's keeping you at arms length so maybe I'm missing out on things, I don't know...
I'm back! I bet you didn't even missed me, that's how short my "blog vacation" was. Anyhow, I'm excited to present you today another subtle but dreamy nail art, oh so perfect for our beloved summer days. For today's nail art I used a Born Pretty Store stamping plate that I won at a giveaway. It has gorgeous designs on it! I can't wait to try them all!
So this is my last draft :)) After bragging in a previous post that I have this regular posting thing under control, today I'm telling you that I don't, and that's ok because my nails have been bare for a few days now, my exams are over and I don't know when I'm going to post again. So yeah I'm taking a little vacation, but I'll be back soon.
Let's go on with the colorful manis, shall we? Maybe I went a little overboard with the colors, but it's summer and I want all the cheering I can get. I was going to participate with this design in another Moyou London contest but I wasn't very pleased with the end result. As you can see my top coat smudged the stamping. Oh well, sometimes everything can't be perfect.
I can't believe I've managed to post 8 times this month, with exams and all! The key ingredient to constant posting is planning ahead. Oh yes, I've discovered the big secret! I always have one or two manicures ready to go on the blog before the one I'm curently wearing. So that gives me a little bit of wiggle room in case I'm not in the mood for nails or my design doesn't turn out to be "blog worthy". It really takes away the stress of not having what to post in the mentioned cases.
So this is a color that looks really gorgeous in the bottle but not particularly on my nails. It's really smooth and an easy one coater. It also has a nice shine, I can't really complain. It's a vibrant color perfect for summer. Oh, right, I'm talking about Farmasi #46
Would you wear such a shade? What combos come to mind when you look at it? I struck out :)
Today is a special day! It's the 200th post on my blog! Yeey! Although I should've reached this number a while ago, I'm happy to be here now :) And even though my manicures don't always turn up as I want them to, I will still try. Because this is my creative outlet and a way to "blow off some steam" and I will keep doing it as long as it is a pleasure, no matter what others think...because I do have my fair share of not so approving comments that were said along the way.
Weeeell...it was bound to happen! Although I don't like to post manicures that I'm not fully satisfied with, today I made an exception. Having to study for exams, my time is "precious". And eh... I didn't get the chance to re-do the whole manicure. So here it is...my not so perfect nails :)
[EN] - I don't know about you, but I'm loving these summer days! I don't mind the heat, I love it! I wish I could live in a never-ending summer ♥. Okay, enough of that...lets talk naaails! I seriously can't get enough of this color/nail polish. You can see it in Summer bluesand reviewed in Negative space trend(fun fact: the last time I wore this nail polish was during my exams session, just like now). Anyways,I say it's a must have for this summer.
[Ro] - Salutare
fete dragi!
[EN] - I'm excited about today's manicure, it's so summery and pretty! Yeah, modest me, but actually I cannot take credit for it, because all the merits go to the Moyou London Pro XL Collection, plate 14 (see reviewhere). All I did was pick the colors :)
[EN] - I hope you're well and happy! I'm not so much, there are a few exams coming my way so this month will be intense for me. But rest assured, I've got the blog covered with manicures prepared in advance :) Today, let's discuss about nail art accessories, 3D in particular. What are your thoughts about them?
[Ro] - Buna fete dragi!
[EN] - Summer days are finally upon us! Are you prepared? Color and fashion wise...with hot, vibrant ones? If not you should really think about it. This season is perfect for crazy bold colors, prints, color blocking everything is allowed, isn't it? I'm so excited!
[Ro] - Zilele de vara au sosit in sfarsit! Sunteti pregatite fetelor?
[EN] - Ladies, I got my hands on my very first China Glaze! Though it shouldn't be that big of a deal, but they're hard to find in my city so yeah, I'm excited to own one. It is such a nice shade, it belongs to my favorite range of color. I think it's also perfect for summer.
E o nuanta tare draguta, una dintre preferatele mele. Cred ca e perfecta pentru vara.
[EN] - Today we take a break from nails to discuss about mascara. I don't usually do beauty reviews, there are plenty of girls out there who do that very well. The main reason for my shyness is because of the opinions which are always subjective and what works for me, may not work for you.
But...I'm willing to make an exception and I invite you to read on to find out why. Again all the opinions shared in this post are my own and I do not wish to enforce them on you. You may choose to try this mascara and see for yourself.
[EN] - I'm so excited about today's nails! It's something I've been meaning to do for a while and I'm glad that MoYou London has given me the chance to do it. They've organised a cute pinups contest where we have to take inspiration from one of their pin-up gals. I've chosen the Doodles Collection, because they have amazing plates in it. So keep your fingers crossed for me, will you?
Zis si facut, am ales Doodles Collection, deoarece au modele deosebite in aceasta. Sa-mi tineti pumnii!
[EN] - After going all animal on you in my previous post I've decided to tone it down a bit and show you a swatch. Just like a "breath of fresh air" between nail art posts.
Oh, ladies, I'm in love! This nail polish has the perfect formula, color, shine, drying time...perfect everything! I've found the holy grail, of nail polishes. Yep, that's how excited I am and like everything else wasn't enough it's also really cheap, what else can we ask ladies?? Only to apply itself maybe :))
[EN] - Today is a glorious day! It's the day I failed at the double stamping technique! :)) I've seen it going around in the nail art world for a while now, so I thought it was about time to give it a try. Aparently, it's not that big of a deal, you stamp once, then you do it again. You can use the same design or a different one. If you're doing the same design but with different colors the trick is to stamp the colors very closely together to get the "idea" of shading, but as you can see I didn't succeed at that.
[Ro] - Salutare fete dragi! Azi e o zi glorioasa! E ziua in care am incercat tehnica stampilarii duble.
[EN] - My lovely girls, today I have for you a crazy cute shade of pink. It's from Rimmel London and it's called Ring a ring o'roses (weird name). I have to confess something, I don't really like how it goes with my skin tone, I like to look at it (that's one of the reasons I bought it) but I don't like it on my nails in particular. By the way, do you know a way to find out if you have a warm skin tone or a cold one?
[EN] - As promised in my previous post (Alaska), today I'm going to show you something "warmer". I was going to say color blocking but I don't think it fits that category. With that in mind can anyone tell me what this trend really is? I think my magenta should have been stronger for this to be called color blocking, right?
Everyone is talking about summer, sunny days, hot hues on your nails or clothes and here's me with a manicure that kinda shouts winter...ups! Or we could look at it as a delicate manicure, not like heavy snowfall. I quite like the end result, I was not expecting to look this good. But hey maybe it's just me! :)
Last week I took part in a challenge and it reminded me of my glorious days :)) I was most productive when I was participating at no more than 3 challenges at a time. I was quite the busy bee and I loved it! But having to come up with some many designs and having to stick to a timeline it took a tool on me eventually. By the time the university started I felt like I needed a break and so I quietly stepped out of the challenges world. And almost two years later here I am ^_^
You know that feeling when you have a ton of stuff to do but you want to do something else entirely (like nail art)? Yeah the all mighty, mind blowing procrastionatioooon! Ugh... Even though there are some tricks as to how to avoid it...it's such a guilty pleasure. And It's quite sad how your own brain is sabotaging you :)) To all of you out there fighting this...hang in there and just get sh*t done. It will get easier once you get started, that fear and panic you feel will go away once you are actually doing something. The trick is to start!
Today I go on with my little pet project and I'm showing you another Rimmel London nail polish (Too Cool To Tango). A gorgeous pastel blue that is just perfect for spring. I'm a little disappointed that the pictures aren't 100% color accurate, the shade isn't that much on the turquoise side, is just a straight up pale blue. Sorry for that :)
How's your week going? I'm gonna brag now and say that I have a one week vacation and plan to just relax and laze around as much as possible. Don't hate the player hate the game :))
Today's manicure is a disruption from my plan to swatch all my Rimmel polishes. What can I say, I was in the mood for some texture. These were my Easter nails, I did them last minute so I needed a nail polish that would dry quickly and would have minimal visibility of any smudges that could've happen.
Hello April! Hope you'll be great! As for temperatures, I hope it'll get better! We've had such a moody weather here, in Cluj lately...it snowed then it was sunny then it snowed again and so on and all in a matter of hours. I'm confused, where is spring? :)) Nonetheless, I'm determined to do "springish" manicures from now on, maybe just maybe the warm sunny days will be here sooner, rather than later.
Today's post is really different from what is usually here on this blog. But since my nails have been naked for a few days and I haven't anything else planned out, I thought it would be a good idea to widen the horizons. I came across this list of ideas on how to blow off some steam, because let's face it...we all need that from time to time! It is really important for our general well being. I don't know who compiled this list, it was the topic of one of my english classes and I figured I should share them with you all ^^
How are you today! Let's bring some summer on our nails, shall we? I've got the perfect nail polish for that, it's called Limealicious (squishy! I know ^^) and it's from Rimmel London, the 60 Seconds Collection. I was telling you in my previous post that I involuntarily started using only Rimmel London nail polishes in my previous manicures. So I've decided to swatch every one I've got from this brand, and I've got about a dozen of them. I hope you won't get bored! It's gonna be fun!
Please ignore my striping skills! They're horrible! I need to practice more, 'cause I'm rusty. Moving on, this design is not thaaat hard to achieve, you start by doing a negative space (using french strips) and then you proceed by doing white lines, or dots or whatever you like.
I bet you are wondering what's with the title, well it seems like the Rimmel London 60 Seconds Collections is full of tricksy names. In my last post (Sky High) I used another nail polish from the same collection, that one is way cooler, you should check it out! I know the title and the nail polish don't really go with the floral nail art but that's what I was going for. An antithesis between the lively flowers and the cold of the "mud", because that's what we had last week when I wore these nails, a lot of rain and gloomy days.
I hope you had a lovely weekend! Another week is upon us but until we are forced to face another Monday let's enjoy a simple manicure. I feel like my mind isn't in the right place for chit-chat so I'll just jump straight to it.
So this post took longer than I expected, I've had these pictures for a few days but I've been procrastinating, I'm very good at that. It's just a simple swatch, but I thought this pretty pink should have the glory of a post, it deserves that :))
Well, spring got a serious kickback! Yesterday it snowed heavily in my neck of the woods so springish manicures will have to wait a bit, allthough I have a few ideas that I can't wait to try! How's the weather in your area?
I'm finally free!! My exams are over, finished, ter-mi-na-do :)) I'm so happy! I took a few days off from everything and just relaxed. Now, I'm ready for blogging and stuff! I would love to hear how you've been?
I promised you in my last post that I will show you a watermarble, but my boyfriend came home unexpectedly after five months of being away. So I hope you can understand why that watermarble didn't happen, even this manicure is from two weeks ago and as long as he's home I don't think I'll have the time to do nails or posts, there will be too much cuddling going around.
So Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I thought I should do something themed appropriate. And as I've said before, sometimes I'm a "rebel" who wants to break the rules therefore, todays nails aren't your typical VDay inspiration. This is how I feel about it this year, but don't worry I'm thinking of all of you so later this week I will post a lovely watermarble, more apropiate for the celebration of love.
After starting the week in a summerish mood, in the hopes of some good energetic vibes (so much needed for a Monday), I thought it would be best to end it in a winterish ensemble. After all, we still have about a month or so of cold weather. At least a little bit of snow would be nice, just a bit, 'cause we barely had any this winter. With that in mind I did this manicure, maybe the last winter nails for this season. So cheers to that!
I've read somewhere that the trends this year say that nail accessories like studs and 3D decorations are out, but I don't agree with that! That would mean I shouldn't were these pretties and that would be a shame. I actually don't always follow trends and neither should you, they are more guidelines than rules. I wear whatever makes me feel good and comfortable! Of course that reminds me: one should get out of his/her comfort zone from time to time.
Hello friends! How are you today? Hope the answer is happy, if not, start with a smile! I for one, am happy to present some pretty water decals from KKCenterHK. I think I've mentioned this before but let me do that again - I love water decals! They are an amazing type of nail decorations that will make your nails look like works of art.
I'm afraid I have to share my sorrows with you today. As you probably know how much I love nail art, you can understand it's a torture for me not to do any. I miss doing some, I have so many ideas but so little time to do them (instead of that I have to study study study). So I'm forced to resume to a simple mani these days.
If you're here reading my blog, I can assume you're interested in nail polish; so I'm sure you sometimes want more than just a simple shade on your nails. If you have no idea what to wear, today's manicure showcases a special shade.
First of all, I would like to know what do you think about the new design of the blog, I've made a few changes, here and there. I also introduced a new contact form that would make the communication between us easier. I really hope that you like the new layout, you're feedback would be much appreciated.
The biggest wish I have for this blog is keeping up with the regular posting, because I often find myself wishing I had more time to dedicate to this hobby. So, here's to hoping!
Today's manicure is just a simple swatch, of a gorgeous nail polish: Avon Stardust Collection ~ Teal glitter. I have already reviewed a different one from the same collection in my last post so I won't go into so many details as usual.
